Louise Twiford Louder's Obituary
Eva Louise (Twiford) Louder, 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Tallahassee on Saturday, February 4, 2023. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, Dr. Earle L. Louder (7/30/1932 - 5/26/2021), an infant son - John Mark, six siblings - Joe, Aubrey, Herbie, Mildred, Elsie, and Margaret, and her parents - Willie Edward and Elsie Virginia (Sawyer) Twiford of Norfolk, Virginia.
Louise was born on June 30, 1933, in Norfolk, Virginia. She graduated from Granby High School. She was a lifelong Christian, working as church secretary at Temple Hills Baptist Church in Maryland before moving to Kentucky in 1968. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morehead for many years before joining the Clearfield Baptist Church in Clearfield, KY. She worked as executive secretary for the Chair of the Mathematics Dept. at Morehead State University from 1969 until her retirement.
Louise loved to read. She volunteered for a number of years with the Rowan County, KY school system and local library, as a reading tutor. Always interested in continuing her education, she took college night classes and horseback riding lessons in her 50's. She loved to travel and managed to travel all over Europe with her husband and the international choir and band from Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp (Michigan).
Louise was the mother of 6 children and is survived by 2 sons - Joseph (Portia) Louder and Stephen (Betty) Louder, and 3 daughters - Mary Nixon, Katherine (Mike) Norman, and Leslie O'Neal. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
