Linda White Sloat's Obituary
Linda Maxine White Sloat, 71, of Lake Talquin, FL, passed away November 29th, 2025, at the First Commerce Center for Compassionate Care at TMH in Tallahassee.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Amanda Maxine Sloat of Lake Talquin, brother, Meadie Massey White of Lake Talquin, sister, Jo Ann White Hart of Lake Talquin, five grandchildren, Easton Jones and Ethan Sloat of Lake Talquin, and Cari, Carlyn and Caeli Sloat of Hosford, several nieces and nephews, and one very special niece, Cathy White Harris Owens. Cathy is the daughter of Donna and Maxwell White of Greensboro.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton Maxwell White and Maggie White, husband, Donnie Earl Sloat, son, Donnie Clifton "Cliff" Sloat, siblings, Moodie, Madie, and Clelle White, sister, Lucile Weeks Black, brothers, Preston White, Otha White, and Maxwell White, and one infant grandchild, Cierra Sloat.
Linda was born December 17, 1953 in Quincy, Florida. She was a 1971 graduate of Greensboro High School. She retired with 39 years of service as a 911 dispatcher for the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office and previously Gadsden County Road and Bridge Department.
Linda's hobbies included any activity with the church. She enjoyed good spiritual messages, church songs, dinner on the ground, reading her Bible or helping others. She was a true testament of living for Christ. No matter the time or circumstance you could always count on Linda to be by your side. She cared for her brother, Maxwell until her diagnosis with cancer.
Linda is loved so much more than words can describe. She will always be remembered as a true servant of God.
A service is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Friday, December 5th, 2025, at Bethel Assembly of God, 1882 Pine Grove Church Rd, Quincy, FL 32351. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The interment will immediately follow the service in Sycamore Cemetery.
