Leon "Laddie" Lathen Cooper Jr.'s Obituary
Leon “Laddie” Lathen Cooper, Jr., 79 of Quincy, Florida passed away on September 24, 2023 at the Margaret Z. Dozier Hospice House.
Laddie was born on May 23, 1944 in Havana, Florida to the late Leon and Doris Cooper of Quincy, Florida. Laddie is preceded in death by his wife Pam Clemons Cooper and his sister Gail Cowhig. He is survived by his sister Dorothy Lines (Frank), his son Cameron Lathen Cooper (Tanya), his daughter Sylina Littlejohn (Branyan) and niece Jennifer Cowhig and her daughters Tara and Savana.
While attending Havana High School, he excelled in basketball where he was recognized as the Class C Player of the Year in 1963 and was named to the All Big Bend Class C basketball team. He averaged 15.6 points per game as a starting guard in high school and went on to play basketball at Chipola Junior College.
Laddie enjoyed watching all sports but especially the Florida State Seminoles and could be caught flipping between football and NASCAR on his TV. He loved them both. He was also an animal lover and had a soft heart for strays.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to his neighbors, the professional staff and caregivers at TMH and the Big Bend Hospice House.
The family invites you to join them for services held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 located at Lifesong Funeral Home located at 20 S. Duval Street, Quincy, Florida. A visitation will begin at 10:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
