Katherine will always be my first best friend, and I am so thankful for the times we got to spend together. From when we were young, to just two years ago, we ran into each other and walked around Lake Ella before I moved away from Tallahassee. It felt like we picked right back where we left off. A friendship like that is a treasure. The same thing happened in the picture below several years prior, I went to North Carolina with some friends and met up with Kath. Every time with her was a sweet and special time. She always had the most fun, peaceful, calming and comforting presence.

My heart, love and prayers are with you, Steve, Lisa and Jackson. I think of you all the time.

The babysitting stories I have are endless. But a few instances stand out in my mind. Katherine wanted to help me cook dinner for the boys one night so we decided to make pasta.
I’m trying to teach her other ways of telling that pasta was done if you forget to use a timer (which of course we had forgotten).
So I told her about the “stick to the wall” test. I threw a strand and it didn’t stick so I told her the pasta needed to cook longer. She asked if she could throw the next one so I said of course.
Reed had been quiet for a little while, which didn’t happen often so I felt the need to check in on him. He was just entertaining himself in his room and I gave him the heads up that dinner would be ready in a few.
I walked into the kitchen to a new work of art. At least half of the pasta had been thrown against the wall, not any part of the wall mind you.
The little dividing wall for the kitchen to the dining area that was like a foot long and hung down from the ceiling (the highest part of the wall).
She was just laughing and laughing, pulling scoops of pasta from the pot and just launching it as high as she could. The pasta that didn’t stick got a second flight.
So dinner got delayed and I got to spend a few fun minutes on a chair cleaning pasta off the wall.

Another time I was babysitting, I was probably around 15, and she offered me some red jello.
I made the mistake of telling her that red jello creeped me out.
Her smile got so big and her eyes bright. Next thing I knew red jello hit me in the shoulder. I screamed and started running. She got Reed and Jackson on board and before I knew it there was red jello all over the house. I just know I was grateful it wasn’t on sale and there were only 6 containers in a pack.
As it has been around 15 years, for my 30th birthday I’m having a jello fight with a few friends. I officially planned it over a month ago but I’ve been talking about doing it forever.
Katherine’s adventurous spirit and love of launching food will live on in my life and in those she touched.
I can still remember her laugh with that mischievous lilt as she chased me around the house.

I still remember when Kath and I did this together! She was mad I wore a 2 piece because we weren't allowed but I didn't listen. I also remember when we had matching monkey outfits that Mrs Lisa bought us. So many fun times with Kath. When I think of my childhood I think of her.

Dear Lisa, Steve and Jackson we are so saddened by your tremendous loss. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers for God’s comfort, strength and peace. We loved Kat and we love each of you.

Katherine was dearly loved and cherished by her family and friends. Kat was the fun loving, popular, adventurous, creative, loyal friend and school mate. I remember meeting her the first day of Kindergarten when she and my daughter Hannah became instant friends. Through the years I frequently accompanied field trips, helped with class parties, school events, plays and when Kat was along, things were just more fun. She made others laugh, had a good sense of humor, was energetic, appreciative, and had a lovely smile.
She was especially caring and had a tender heart. I distinctly remember a speech she gave for the 4th grade Tropicana Speech Contest about how to care for the needy children of this world. She started her speech by asking the audience if they ever though about the problems in the world and told us she did and she thought about those in need. She also noticed the beauty in nature and loved animals, including her pets and the pets of her friends. Kat, you left us too soon and we are all heartbroken. Your memory is a blessing.

Steve, Lisa and Jack, we’re so sorry for your loss.
Katherine was a lovely girl. Our daughter went to school with her and said she was one of the nicest girls at school. She was kind, warm-hearted, generous and fun to be around. All of the girls liked to be near her and she included anyone who was left out.
I remember when she bought some snacks on a field trip and kindly shared them with the girls who hadn’t bought any. She was so sincere and genuine, and friendly to everyone, that I thought what wonderful parents she must have to have raised a girl who cares about others.
She was also a good sister to Mason and was so loving toward and protective of her big brother.
Katherine will be so missed because she touched the lives of so many.
We will pray for comfort for you in this time of such sadness.

Here are some of my favorite photos with Katherine ❤️!! She will always be a dear part of my memories in elementary school. From dressing up for trick or treating to beach adventures, Katherine was my pal. I always loved spending at the Sellers house, playing with Bingo and watching Katherine fend for herself in a house filled with brothers. Being the oldest of two sisters, having brothers was a totally foreign and completely fun experience to join into with Katherine. She loved to laugh, and was quite the comedian herself. She knew how to bring out the lighthearted and carefree side of me. As I reflect on it, she was one of my first best friends! She always built me up and was quick to include me to be a part of her world.

Jesus, we thank you for Katherine. We thank you for creating her, for the love you showed to her and for the impact she made on the world. God, we know that all life has purpose. Lord, bring the Sellers family supernatural comfort and for them to feel your arms holding them and carrying them in this time. God, be their strength in the brokenness and be their light where things feel dark. We praise you for never giving up on us, God.

During their elementary school years, I would often drop off my son, Jeff, to play at The Seller's House and I knew he would always have a fun and creative time with "The Sellers Gang." Jeff and Mason came up with all sorts of games, skits and videos, and sometimes recruited Jack, Katherine and Reed to fill in as actors. Katherine was smart, yet quiet, and you could tell that she could "hold her own" with the boys. She was also artistic, so we were sure she was headed for a creative life. Katherine had the famous "Sellers Twinkle" in her eyes, and she had a streak of kindness in her, and a love for animals, that endeared her to her parents and others. We are heartbroken that she left this world too soon and we will miss her dearly.

I have so many memories of Katherine as a baby and young child. Beautiful, precocious smile, always a little twinkle in her eye. I remember staying too late for dinner one night and Katherine got so tired she curled up under the table and covered herself up with the floor rug! Always creative, always up for an adventure with her brothers, especially Mason. I know how much joy Katherine brought to her parents these past few years. Such a bright spot in such a difficult time. Losing Katherine now is heartbreaking beyond words. You were dearly loved. You are dearly missed. Rest Katherine. God’s peace to you and to all.
