Katherine Marie Peaker's Obituary
Katherine (Kathy) Marie Peaker, 82, of Havana, Florida passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Margaret Z. Dozier Hospice House located in Tallahassee, FL.
Kathy was born July 27, 1940 in Great Bend, Kansas. She was raised in Larned Kansas by her mother and adoptive father Erma and Allen Fleming. She graduated from Larned High School in 1958 and from Kansas State University with a degree in Modern Languages in 1963. She loved her family, friends, dogs, and cat. After she retired from American Kennel Club (AKC) as an inspector, she moved to Florida and pursued her passion of breeding dogs, specifically Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and Havanese. She was a board member of the Ochlockonee River Kennel Club and an active member of St. Louis Catholic Church.
Kathy is survived by her two brothers, John Fleming and Mark Fleming; daughters, Sondra (Greg) Brown and Stacy (Shane) Parr; six grandchildren, Kirsten (Ryan) Cottrill, Taylor Parr (Alex Brashear), Noah Brown, Kelsey (Gary) Barker, Cade Parr, and Ian Brown; and two great grandchildren, Cassidy Cottrill and Tavin Brashear.
A memorial service will be held 10 am on Friday, October 14, at the St Louis Catholic Church in Tallahassee, FL. A private burial for family will be held at a later date. A great lover of birds as well as animals of all shapes and sizes (except snakes), the family requests that remembrances be made in the form of donations to the Audubon Society.
