I had the pleasure of getting to know Karl as a fellow legal professional assisting me in regard to community association matters. In working with him over the past year I quickly grew to appreciate how unique he was to our legal community, and how much of an impact he had on our understanding and appreciation of community association law. Karl became a mentor in regard to the matters we worked on, yet always managed to punctuate our conversations with his infectious sense of humor and aplomb. He will be missed and always remembered as one of the best examples of what an attorney can be, a truely kind, inspiring and professional to the core!

My very deepest condolences go out to his family and friends, who, I'm sure, judging by Karl's character, are fortunate to have had time to share in his life. May he always live on in your memories as he will in mine!

My sisters and I went to school with Haley and Karly from elementary and on. We were in band and played softball together. Mr. Scheuerman was one of those parents that was always around the field, both softball and marching. He was always supporting his daughters no matter the sport, band, or club. Although it has been years since I last saw him, my memories of him at the softball field cheering us on are clear. What a kind, funny, and gentle person. Karl was a long time colleague of mine in the Community association law field. He was an outstanding person. He had a brilliant mind and was always able to convey knowledge in a folksy way with a droll sense of humor. He always had time to interact with me and went way beyond whatever he was asked. It's so sad that he was taken but I guess his job here on earth was done. May his memory be a blessing to his family-Bob Tankel

Karl was an enabler. He enabled people to fall in love with him. Always quick with a smile, a witty sense of humor, a pragmatic doer of deeds not wanting to be done, a true knight of the most royal of tables, a loyal friend, trustworthy with all matters personal or otherwise, generous of spirit and heart,......I could go on. My dear beloved friend, thank you for so many things, zinnias on my yoga altar, chocolate melting in my mouth, dinner after class, guided tours through your amazing gardens, sharing watermelons until they were well past their sweet juicy days, a friendship and heart connection I will cherish every day of my life.
