I am so sorry to hear of Joy’s passing. We were friends in school in Maryland in middle and high school. We were the tallest girls in our class and both enjoyed sewing. My thoughts are with Jim and her family.

On the 8th of August, I lay in bed next to Joy, we held hands and watched TV. I look over and notice she is no longer breathing. I call her name, but she doesn’t respond, I place my head on her chest and can only hear a faint heartbeat beating once every 5 or 6 seconds. I called out to her again, but still no response. I look into her eyes and can see that she is no longer in pain. Her look was one of peace. I kissed her on her cheek and closed her eyes.
