Joseph "Joe" McMullian Jr's Obituary
Joseph David “Jody” McMullian, Jr., 51, of Tallahassee, Fl, passed away on October 21, 2025, surrounded in love.
Joe D. “Jody” was born January 26, 1974, in Anchorage, Alaska, the son of Joe McMullian and Debbie Peacock McMullian.
As a young child, Jody moved from Alaska to Marianna, FL, where he would learn the life lessons that would mold him into who he was. It was there, after Vacation Bible School, that he began his relationship with Jesus. He returned to Alaska for high school and graduated from East Anchorage High School.
Life took him to many states and many jobs. He traveled, worked, and lived life to the fullest and enjoyed telling stories all about it.
After returning to Tallahassee, “Joe” married Cathy Eshleman McMullian on March 26, 2005, in Monticello, FL.
He owned and operated McMullian’s Lawn and Outdoor Services for 15 years before selling it to help build and open the first craft brewery in Jackson County, FL.
Joe loved his children and made sure he was always available for them. If he wasn’t coaching their team, he would always be the loudest voice cheering from the sidelines.
As they grew their family and their faith, Joe was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church for several years. He volunteered with the children’s ministry where he was a Royal Ambassadors (RA) leader, helped with Vacation Bible School, and went to summer camps. He later led his family to become members of City Church to continue their spiritual growth.
Joe is survived by his wife, Cathy; daughter Tyler and son Kyle; his mother Debbie Peacock McMullian; father and mother-in-law, Bob and Linda Eshleman and brother and sister-in-law, David and Terri Eshleman.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 10:30AM at Fellowship Baptist Church, 3705 N. Monroe Street, Tallahassee, Fl. The memorial service will begin at 11:00AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to City Church or a charity of your choice.
