John Solomon Saucier's Obituary
John Soloman Saucier, 76, of Tallahassee, passed away on April 30, 2023.
John was born in Poplarville, Mississippi on June 14th, 1946 but called Greenwood, MS his hometown. It was in Greenwood that he set records on the track team of Greenwood High School, built his first car by hand, and tinkered on hotrods as a shade tree mechanic. He went on to graduate from Mississippi State University and later moved to Florida where he started a family in the small town of Havana, FL just outside of Tallahassee. He was extremely handy, able to fix or build almost anything, and over the years he turned the 7 acre property into a home - building the family house, horse barn and lifelong memories. He was also an avid fisherman of both salt and freshwater and had a special passion for fly fishing, including tying his own fishing flies. After a long career in Information Technology he retired from Berg Steel Pipe in Panama City to enjoy life on a hobby farm in Eustis for a number of years before moving back to Tallahassee in order to be closer to family.
John was a patient, loving, steadfast father, a devout man of God, and kind to those around him. Survivors include two children, Andrew Saucier (wife Andi) of Monticello and Alison Saucier (husband Michael) of Tallahassee; one brother, Lester Saucier of North Carolina; and one grandson, Micah Saucier.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 11th at the Lifesong chapel, 20 S. Duval St. Quincy, FL 32351.
Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers for John and the Saucier Family!
