John Francis Oldach's Obituary
John Francis Oldach, 54, of Tallahassee, and formerly Laguna Niguel, California, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Krista Oldach, and beloved son, Jackson Oldach.
John was born in Boston, MA. As a child he lived all over the United States, including Puerto Rico where he learned to speak fluent Spanish. He graduated from Hingham High School in Hingham, MA. After high school, John earned his PGA (Professional Golf Association) certification and started teaching golf. John went on to attend New Mexico State University and then graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing. John continued his career in the golf industry working for Orlimar Golf. He enjoyed traveling the west coast of the United States custom building golf clubs at special events. His success in this role gave him the opportunity to work for TaylorMade Adidas Golf as their Senior Manager of Consumer Trial. He was tasked with building and operating their national demo day event program and managed a successful team that traveled the country. After moving to Florida in 2024, John enjoyed working at The Golf Club at Summerbrooke in Tallahassee.
John started playing sports as a young child and was a talented athlete. He played varsity basketball, football, and golf throughout high school. His love for sports continued his entire life both professionally and in his personal life. Watching his son, Jackson, play sports gave him incredible joy. John always said that it was the highlight of his week to go to games and watch Jackson play. He and Jackson spent countless hours together throwing the football, shooting hoops, and watching sporting events.
John had an insatiable love for music. He was a highly skilled guitarist and spent much of his free time listening to music and playing the guitar. He was especially interested in Delta blues and the works of Robert Johnson. He loved the process of studying and transcribing music and it gave him tremendous joy.
Everyone who knew John described him as a kind, gentle, and loving man. He had a quick wit and was referred to by many as the funniest person they have ever met. John loved to laugh and made everyone around him feel at ease, lighthearted and accepted. His greatest attribute, however, was being a wonderful husband and father to his wife and son, whom he adored. When not at work, all his time was spent at home with Krista and Jackson.
