John London's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow, yet with countless cherished memories, that we announce the passing of John “Jack” F. London Jr., age 73, who entered peacefully into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 29, 2025.
Jack was born on May 11, 1952, in Norwalk, Connecticut, to John F. London Sr. and Dorothy Bedient London. He was raised alongside his siblings in Norwalk, where he enjoyed a joyful and adventurous childhood. At the age of 21, Jack followed his heart south and moved to Florida, ready to begin a new chapter of life. He quickly embraced the warm sunshine and made it clear he would not miss the cold Connecticut winters. Florida became his true home.
Jack had two children, Johnny and Kelly, with his first wife of 11 years, Renee. He shared 41 years of marriage with his wife, Marianne, and together they had four daughters, Liz, Jul, Katt, and Mo. Johnny preceded Jack in death and the loss of his son brought him profound grief. In time, a Sunday sermon encouraged him to heal by helping others—and Jack took that message to heart. Service became his calling. Jack devoted himself to the community of Lake Miccosukee, where he founded a food ministry and welcomed elders from Capital City Christian Church to minister to the community. Eventually, Jack himself began preaching, baptizing others, and serving in every way he could. His love for people was evident in all he did, and his impact on the Lake Miccosukee community will be felt for generations. Jack also found joy in simple pleasures—especially fishing, often alongside his dear friend and fishing buddy known affectionately as “Papa Smurf.” Above all else, Jack loved his family with all of his heart. He loved his wife and was devoted to his daughters, always ready to do anything for his girls. Jack was an incredible grandfather who enjoyed making his grandchildren laugh—and maybe spoiling them with a little extra sugar. He loved taking them fishing, sneaking them ice cream, and tickling them until they couldn’t stop laughing. Pop Pop never did anything small. Every gift, surprise, or moment was always over the top—bigger than life itself. They adored their Pop Pop and will miss him more than words can say. Jack’s life was a true reflection of faith, service, love, and compassion. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and a devotion to God and family. Jack is survived by his wife of 41 years Marianne London and his children Kelly Marie Meade (Mike), Mary Elizabeth Miller (Kane), Julianne Lynne Colle (Will), Kathleen Anne Marie London and Maureen Leigh Anne Allcorn (Nathan); his grandchildren by Kelly Marie London, Kyle, Marissa, Emily, Jessica, Julia, Rachael, Lindsay, London, Chelsea, Michael; his grandchildren by Mary Elizabeth Miller, Elijah and Annabelle; his grandchildren by Julianne Lynne Colle, Liam, Hudson and Briggs. He is survived by one sister Diane Gravenhorst (Art) and one brother Eddie London (Judy). Jack was preceeded in death by his father John F. London Sr. ; his mother Dorothy Bedient London and his son, John Francis London, III.
A Celebration of Life honoring Jack will be held on January 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Capital City Christian Church, located at 6115 Mahan Drive, Tallahassee, Florida 32317. Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather and share memories and stories that celebrate and honor Jack’s remarkable life. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
