Flew with JD numerous times in Germany 78-80. He loved to fly and was a great pilot . Known as the “Silver Fox” flying an AH-1Cobra aircraft 023 “Meathound” he’s showed me the ropes as a brand new Cobra pilot. I can still his steely smile. It had been years since I had seen but I just talked to him recently. Just like him he never gave and indication of any ill health. So glad the hour long call I had with him. Flying with angels now. He gave a lot of good memories. A captain Mark CLOUSE filmed us flying one time in 78. JD was doing a lot gun runs and awesome flying. It was a fun time back then CW4 Thomas L. Anderson USA Ret
