John Hopkins Jr.'s Obituary
The family of Mr. John Hopkins, Jr. announces his passing on Wednesday, May 27, 2015. He was born on December 25, 1939, to John and Minnie L. Hopkins, which both preceded him in death. He attended the schools of Gadsden County before joining the United States Air Force in 1958. He was a 10 year veteran of the Air Force where he served as a jet mechanic. He also did a tour of duty in Vietnam. Upon his honorable discharge from the Air Force, John worked several years with the NASA space program as a Computer Programmer.
He leaves to mourn his passing, three daughters, Brigette and Jacqueline Hopkins of Washington, D.C.; and Teresa Hopkins of Quincy, FL; three sisters; four brothers, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by one sister.
A memorial service has been planned for 1:00pm, Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church in Quincy. Lifesong Funerals & Cremations (www.lifeongfunerals.com or 850/627-1111) is assisting the family with arrangements.
