John "Bryant" Conner's Obituary
Our beloved Bryant passed away unexpectedly on May 1st. John Bryant (known as J.B. or affectionately as "B" by his family) was born in Tallahassee on April 8th,1961. He grew up in Tallahassee, graduating from Lincoln High School and Tallahassee Community College, and becoming the youngest builder/contractor in town in 1980. He lived his passion, building and beautifully remodeling homes for 43 years.
Bryant's great loves though, were his family and friends. He cherished his time spent in Lloyd on the family ranch, the Bar C. He worked cattle, fished, hunted and loved to host big Thanksgivings for the extended family and friends, referred to as "Gatherings".
Always curious, Bryant built a forge and learned how to blacksmith, enjoyed the fruit and vegetable garden he'd created, experimented with cooking and became an avid baker. He had a dry wit, adored his dog, Kit, enjoyed old movies, cartoons, listening to music of all kinds and spending time with his close friends and family.
He met the love of his life at his birthday celebration in 1990 and spent 33 years sweeping her off of her feet and devoted himself to her happiness and protection.
He is survived by his wife Suzanne Foster Conner whom he referred to as his bride for 33 years, his daughter Lindsey and son-in-law Sonny Ortolano, as well as his sister, Kimberly Tharpe (Richard); Brothers- in-law, Allen Foster ( Andrea ) , Patrick Foster ( Olivia) ; nieces, Caitlyn Hoyt (Jeff) , Cassidy Jones (Dan) Anna Foster and Olivia Foster; and nephews, Hunter Foster, Jacob Foster, Elias Foster, and Colter Gillmore.
He is predeceased by his parents Doyle Conner Sr. and Kitten Bennett Conner, and brother-in-law Daniel Foster.
A great comfort to the family is the fact that three transplant recipients were given a new chance at life thanks to Bryant's choice to have been an organ donor.
Please join us as we gather to honor his life, on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023 at 1pm, at The Retreat at Bradley's Pond, 9002 Bradley Road, 32309.
