John Harold Booth Jr.'s Obituary
John Harold Booth, Jr. aged 81, of Tallahassee passed away surrounded by family on Monday, August 11, 2025.
John was born in Tallahassee, Florida, on September 8, 1943. Son of John Harold Booth, Sr. and Margaret Hodges Booth. He is survived by his sons, John Lee Booth and Jason C. Booth (Sheri), granddaughter, Jadyn N. Booth and grandson, Jacob S. Booth all of Tallahassee. He is also survived by his sister Pamela B. Smith (Jack) and their sons Troy and Jeremy (Devin).
John was most proud of his grandchildren and loved telling stories about family, horses, military vehicles and local history. He had been a member of Cub Scout Pack 103, graduated from Leon High School in 1962, and was a member of the Leon High Marching Red Coats.
John was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and was a retiree from the City of Tallahassee after 23 years of service. He was a past member of the Civil Air Patrol in Tallahassee and member of the Big Bend Model Railroad Club and served as a committee member for the Camp Gordon Johnston Museum in Carrabelle, FL. He was also a long-standing member of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association and Dixie Division Military Vehicle Collectors Club.
The family will receive friends at the home of Jason & Sheri Booth, Sunday afternoon, August 17th from 4-6:00 PM. A private funeral at Tallahassee Memory Gardens will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Camp Gordon Johnston Museum or Big Bend Hospice.
