JoAnn Shepard Wells' Obituary
JoAnn Shepard Wells, 83, of Greensboro, FL., passed away on February 1, 2025.
A lifelong resident of Gadsden County, JoAnn was born in Quincy, Fl., on March 6, 1941, to Winton C. Shepard and Jessie Ray Shepard. She was raised in Greensboro, FL., and graduated from Greensboro High School in 1959. She was a member of the high school band where she played the flute.
In her adolescence and teen years, she attended Greensboro Baptist Church where she gave her heart to Jesus and became a born-again Christian. She then spent many years with her family attending Quincy First Baptist Church.
JoAnn was mostly a stay-at-home mom raising her two children. In later years she worked for McTavish Furniture Company in Quincy, Fl. and Cario, Ga. Following her employment there, she worked for several years with Flowers Baking Company in Quincy, Fl.
JoAnn is survived by her son, Matthew J. Wells (Shannon) of Tallahassee, sister, Carolyn Ayers Burns (Steve) of Quincy, brothers, Johnny M. Shepard (Carol) of Thomasville, GA., and R. Wayne Shepard (Barbara) of Donaldsonville, GA., a grandson, Jake Millard of Boston, Mass., granddaughter Taylor Wehler (James) of Tallahassee, FL., a great granddaughter, Sage Wehler, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Wells Millard, her parents, Winton C. and Jessie Ray Shepard, and her brother, Hershel Shepard.
There are no public services planned at this time. The family will honor her wishes privately at a later date.
