Jasmine Renee' Govea's Obituary
Jasmine Renee Govea passed away peacefully with her grandparents (Terry and Ann) at her side on February 20, 2026.
Jasmine’s life was full of joy and love. She was born in Tallahassee, Florida and had also lived in Tampa, Jacksonville and Lakeland. Jasmine graduated from Gretchen Everhart School in 2022.
She resided with her grandparents since 2020 where she was loved dearly and spoiled daily. Jasmine spent vacation time in St. Petersburg, Florida and Houghton Lake, Michigan.
She loved boat rides with her father, going to the beach and events around town to get her face painted with her mother. She also loved having her hair done, make-up sessions and especially having her nails painted by her sister. She loved her brother and loved to aggravate him as much as possible. Jasmine often began her mornings by asking for “rides” – car, bus and boat. She would ask for “doctor” and say she had boo boos. She loved bracelets and when she went to the doctor, they would have to put on a bracelet before she would leave. She loved to buy shirts and shoes. She loved all kinds of animals, especially snakes and dinosaurs, loved dancing at Night to Shine events, cheerleading and bowling with Special Olympics, placing first and second in state competitions. She visited Tallahassee Museum every week to see the snakes and Bass Pro Shop to watch the fish. Jasmine loved to take everyone’s shoes, especially her mother’s high heels. She loved Disney, snow and swimming.
Jasmine would tell everyone, “Good job”, “have a nice day”, “thank you” and “heehaw” when riding horses.
She spent time with Aunt Bubble, Uncle Nani, Alex, Hunter and Annabelle on the weekends.
Jasmine was known and recognized by many people around town.
She is survived by her grandparents, Terry and Ann Ivester; her mother, Cheryl Govea; her father, Stenio Govea (Liza); her sister, Ariel Govea; her brother, Sebastian Govea; her uncle, Adam Hughes (Sara); her aunt, April Ivester (Thomas) and cousins, Tristen Ivester, Hunter Ivester, and Annabelle Ivester.
Jasmine will be dearly missed by many. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 11 A.M. at LifeSong Funeral Home, 20 S. Duval Street, Quincy, Florida 32351. A reception will follow at the home of Terry and Ann Ivester.
