Janet Elizabeth Washington-Ulysses' Obituary
Janet Washington-Ulysses, 57, of Cairo and formerly of Tallahassee, passed away on December 5, 2021 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
Janet was born and raised in Queens, NY and moved to Tallahassee in 1995. Before moving to Tallahassee she was a dancer for the Dance Theater of Harlem. She received her Bachelor's in Sociology from FSU and Master's in Adult Education from Troy University. She retired as a Registration Specialist from Tallahassee Community College where she was involved with Leadership TCC. In her spare time she enjoyed poetry and jazz music.
Janet is survived by three children, Alexis Ulysses; Jordan Baxter and Rafael Bernard, all of Cairo, GA; one brother, Steven Washington of Tallahassee; five grandchildren, Kalliyah Bernard; Aidyn and Alicia DeCastro-Baxter; Audrey Scott; and Temple Patterson; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 PM on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Lifesong Funeral Home, 20 S. Duval St., Quincy, FL 32351. A service will be held at Lifesong of Quincy at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 14th.
