A friend and co-worker for many years, I am saddened to learn of James' passing.
He loved his son with all his being. May God look over Jonathan and all who loved James as they mourn his passing.

The most memorable event about James Thornber that resides within me is when he walked into my office and said that he was going to pursue full custody of Jonathan. At the time Jonathan was living with his mother and had a severe allergy to cats and she had some cats in the house. James had traveled to visit Jonathan in the ER room.
My heart was touched and I felt so connected to Jonathan that I was hopeful that his new environment would allow him to grow in strength and move beyond the allergy issue that was front and center in his life at the time.
Over the years James kept me posted on Jonathan’s academic progress, guitar playing and lacrosse. Jonathan graduated from Auburn University with an engineering degree and he is working with an engineering firm and a contributing member of society. Great work Jonathan and know that Dad was proud of what you had done and your path you had chosen.
