James Franklin Pafford's Obituary
James Franklin Pafford, 81, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023,
after an almost two-year battle with cancer and associated complications.
James, known to many as “Jim,” was born on November 18, 1941, in Miami, Florida and later
relocated to Tallahassee, Florida. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and proud
Veteran of the U.S. Army. After serving in the military, he worked for a printing company for
many years. In addition to spending time with loved ones, he enjoyed traveling to Biloxi to play
slots or poker, and watching anything involving sci-fi, military, westerns, and sports.
James is preceded in death by his parents (Joseph and Elsie Pafford), two of his children
(Douglas Pafford and Denise Nettles), and a grandson (Seth Nettles). He is survived by his wife
of 62 years, Carol, four children – Darren Pafford, Dale (Kimberly) Pafford, Dean (Andrea)
Pafford, and Danielle (Bon) Clarke, and 14 grandchildren.
No services are currently planned. The family will be convening privately in memory of James.
