James David McIntyre's Obituary
James “Jim” David McIntyre, age 68, of Tallahassee, FL passed away on February 23, 2021. He was born in Hialeah, Florida, on March 12, 1952. Being a first-generation McIntyre born in the United States, and with all of his family still residing in Scotland, Jim was always very proud of and devoted to his Scottish roots.
Jim was predeceased by his loving father, James Lindsay McIntyre, cherished mother, Mabel Johnston McIntyre and adored sister, Cherry McIntyre Stempler.
Jim always had a strong love for music and theatre growing up and, like most Scottish men, learned the game of golf at an incredibly young age. He had a passion for the sport and excelled at it throughout his adult life.
While studying at the University of South Florida in the early 70’s, he met the love of his life, Michele Ann Ross. Marrying in April of 1975, the couple proved that true love lasts by celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary in 2020.
Jim built his career in the retail industry as a highly successful salesman specializing in men’s suits. Throughout his career he received numerous awards and recognitions for his achievements. These included being top seller in the country at JC Penny, managing private retail stores, including Men’s Wearhouse and Jos. A. Bank, and being named Pacesetter with annual record sales while working for Dillard’s.
Fortunate enough to retire in 2016, at age 64, Jim spent his final years enjoying well-deserved relaxation and never missing a sports game on network television. Jim was an extremely loving and caring gentleman, always putting others before himself. His goofy sense of humor left you always laughing and constantly on your toes preparing for what joke he would tell next.
Jim is survived by his wife, Michele, son James Robert (Nicole), son Jeffery, and daughter Megan. Memorial donations may be made in Jim’s name to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org/donate.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
