James (Jim) Marshall Croushorn Jr.'s Obituary
James (Jim) Marshall Croushorn, Jr passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, June 17, 2023.
Jim was born November 28, 1939 in Gadsden, Alabama. He grew up in Birmingham, graduating from Woodlawn High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at Samford University. After his military service, he earned two masters degrees from the University of Alabama, and a doctorate in Public Administration from the University of Georgia.
Jim served in the Army and qualified airborne, ranger and special forces. His love of country was a key aspect of his identity only surpassed by his love of his wife of 55 years, his family and his church. He lived out his faith daily.
Jim's love for others was expressed by his constant service to anyone he would come across in need. He never met a stranger. He valued family and friends and poured out his life for others.
Jim lived in Tallahassee, FL where he worked for the state until he retired. He volunteered at the Leon County Humane Society.
Jim is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Amy and his son and daughter-in-law John and Angela and his grandchildren Cole, Caleb, Katie and Ramsey. He will be buried at the Tallahassee National Cemetery. Plans to be announced.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Tallahassee at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 19th. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Jim's ashes will be interred at the Tallahassee National Cemetery after the conclusion of the service at noon.
