John Gallagher
When I was a very old troubled teen (suspended from Leon HS 38 times in my first year- a school record), Guy became my treating psychologist counselor (as my parents were looking for a facility to put me into, which Guy talked them out of doing), Things got so bad that he took me into his home & acted as my father/big brother for a year or so, with lots of chores & homework supervision & structure. We clicked from the start because we each like people who had our own wicked senses of humor.
I was, because of his care and immense effort, able to enroll in law school at age 19 & I moved to New Orleans, where I kept in touch with Guy ever since. He remained a life long close family friend to my extremely grateful parents and siblings & was my very grateful Dad's closest friend. Almost every time I spoke with him over the past 20 years, I made sure to thank him & tell him that he turned my life around. I witnessed him helping many others in critical need over the years, without taking any credit or even mentioning it. Guy made the world a better place for so many people.
With Much Appreciation & Love- John Gallagher
