Gretta Arlou Senft's Obituary
Gretta "Arlou" (Brown) Senft, 86 of Tallahassee, FL, formerly from Osage City, KS passed away peacefully on November 17th, 2022. She was born to Harold E and Lillian Ruth (Martaindale) Brown in Plain City, Ohio.
In 1954, she married Donald Bardell Senft after he returned from serving in the Navy. Together they built a family. Arlou was a hardworking homemaker for the majority of her life. Once all the children were out on their own, she kept busy for several years working with a friend at her daycare.
Early in her life, Don and Arlou chose to open their hearts and home to children in foster care. This was her dream and desire since she was young. They continued to do this for many, many years. During those years, they were able to expand the family making it complete.
Earlier this year the eldest son, Scott Senft of Emporia, Kansas, went ahead of Arlou. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, wife to Scott, Debra Senft of Emporia, Kansas, and her children, Diane Wiebe and husband Gary of Americus, Kansas, Jo Watson of Cairo, Georgia, Kirt Senft and wife Kathy of Quincy, Florida, Jim Senft and wife Juanita of Newport Tennessee, Tim Senft and wife Amber of Topeka, Kansas.
A number of grand children who blessed them with 32 great grand children and a great great grand child born earlier this year.
Cremation is planned and a Memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and sent in care of Lifesong Funeral Home.
