Gracie Brantley Linton's Obituary
Gracie Brantley Linton, 84, of Tallahassee, passed away on July 2, 2023. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jimmy Linton.
Gracie moved to Tallahassee in 1959. Before moving to Tallahassee she spent most of her life in Madison, FL. Her and her husband Jimmy were founding members of Capital Heights Baptist Church in Tallahassee. She graduated from Madison County High School and retired from the United States Postal Service.
Other survivors include two children, William "Chuck" Linton (Deborah) of Tallahassee; and Tony Linton of Tallahassee; two sisters, Flarrie Richardson of Lee, FL and Mary Bell of Madison, FL; three grandchildren, Alisha, Carson and Thomas Linton; and one great grandchild, Cid Linton.
Gracie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Clyde Brantley; brothers, Albert and Clarence Brantley; and sisters, Dot Parker and Florie Williams.
A memorial service is planned for 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 22nd at Capital Heights Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior. A reception will immediately follow the service. Pastors Derrick Burrus and Gary Linton will be officiating. In lieu of flowers please send memorial contributions to Capital Heights Baptist Church or a favorite charity.
