Gordon Lee Smith Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Gordon Lee Smith, Sr., 60, passed away November 9, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia on August 20, 1965, to Nelson Garnett and Janett Stanley Smith, who both pre-deceased him.
Mr. Smith worked in the construction industry as a dry wall installer and was quite proud of the many buildings in Tallahassee which he helped build, including part of Doak Campbell Stadium.
Gordon was a loving, sweet man who cherished his entire family. He often referred to his wife, Amy, as his best friend. His family members have such sweet memories, including fishing at St. George Island, one of Mr. Smith’s favorite places. As kids, they remember him playing ball and other games with them. His adult daughters and son now pass those memories along to their children, always desiring that they continue Gordon’s legacy.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was predeceased by his sister, Brenda “P-nut” Carter. He is survived by his beloved wife, Amy; children, Brittany Smith (Jimi), Gordon Smith, Jr. (Michelle), Kristina Smith (Antonio, Sr.) and Summer Smith; grandchildren, Gage Lee, Draken Prewitt, Antonio Pease, Jr., Freya Prewitt, Maddy, Morgan, Jacob and Junior Smith; great grandchild, Callum Prewitt. He is also survived by his brother, Nelson Smith (Linda); two nieces and two nephews.
