Gordon Manley Jr.'s Obituary
Gordon Manley Jr., 68, of Tallahassee, passed away July 13, 2019 after a short illness while being cared for by his sister, other siblings and the extended family.
Gordon was a native and longtime resident of Palatka, Florida where he was born the son of Gordon “Georgia Boy” Manley Sr. and Carrie Hannah Manley. He was a 1969 graduate of Central Academy High School where he was a member of the football team and attended trade school training (A/C & brick masonry) in Palatka. He was an avid walker and enjoyed fishing and crabbing in the Palatka area.
His father, mother, son Randall Williams (Coatesville, Pennsylvania), brothers Willie Hannah (Belle Glade) and Jim Manley (Palatka), all preceded him in death. He is survived by his grandson Donald Hampton (Palatka), sister Diane (Norman) Bellamy of Tallahassee, brothers Larry (Mary) of Savannah, Georgia, Sergeant Major (Ret.) Johnnie (Sandra) of Savannah, Georgia, Milton (Rita) of Palatka, sisters in law Willie Jean Hannah (Belle Glade) and Jerlene Manley (Palatka), member of the care giving team Stacy Manley Wyndross (niece) and a host of other caring nephews, nieces, cousins, great neighbors, loving friends and classmates.
A memorial service in Palatka is planned by the family.
