Geraldine H. "Gerry" Fix's Obituary
Geraldine “Gerry” Harrison Fix, 78, of Colleyville, Texas, passed away on September 03, 2023 in Tallahassee, Florida.
Gerry was a 1962 graduate of Florida High School and from there she attended Florida State University. Her ambitions aimed for the skies to earn her wings as flight attendant for American Airlines whom she proudly served for 40 years.
Gerry was the widow of Fort Worth Aviation Museum cofounder, Col. Ron E. Fix. She helped set up the Museum Store and volunteered there most Sunday mornings and for all events for several years, prior to the pandemic. Her fellow volunteers remembered her for her generosity, hospitality toward visitors, her organizational skills, and her unique sense of humor.
Gerry was a 10 year member of the KIWI charitable organization consisting of retired and current flight attendants and any of their affiliates. She was known from the members of the local DFW Mid Cities Chapter as being their “Pit Bull” and for her giving heart to their charitable organizations. The Chapter will be making a donation to the National KIWI Endeavor in Gerry’s name
Gerry was known as being the best Godmother the world had ever known. To her stepchildren she was their “Texas Ma” and remembering her for her strength, beauty, being hilarious, a good cook, and travel companion. Her siblings looked forward to her visits expecting the unexpected that was full of fun and surprising conversational topics. One rule was given to never discuss politics. The absolute was being a die hard FSU football fan to where we could hear her hooping and hollering from the state out west called Texas.
She is survived by her siblings, Nancy Trautman, George M, Gwen, and Henry Harrison, her step children, Jim (Lisa) Fix and Kim (Kam) Fix.
Gerry’s life will be remembered and honored on November 2 at the Tallahassee National Cemetery at 2 pm.
