Gayle McDonald's Obituary
Gayle Jane McDonald, 78, passed away in Tallahassee, Florida on April 9, 2021.
Gayle was born in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin on April 3, 1943 to Fred and Shirley Garnier. She has one brother, Charles Garnier. She attended the University of Wisconsin where she met Bruce McDonald, and they were married for 19 years. Throughout her life, she worked as an
insurance claim examiner, doctor’s office manager, and medical transcriptionist, but her most important role was as a loving mother.
She devoted her life to her three children Amanda, Laura, and April. She thrived on always being involved in their school and extracurricular activities. Gayle’s home was a place where everyone would gather. She spent the majority of her life caring for her daughter Amanda, who has cerebral palsy. She was generous, kind and loved to engage in great conversation. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. She loved to read books, complete cross word puzzles and watch television with Amanda. Her pride and joy was her four grandchildren, Madelyn, Ashton, Cameron, and Wesley.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Amanda McDonald, Laura York (Shaun), and April Drennan; her grandchildren, Madelyn York, Ashton York, Cameron York and Wesley Drennan; and her brother Charles Garnier.
A Celebration of Life will be held April 26, 2021 at 4:00pm at Faith Presbyterian Church, Tallahassee, Florida.
In Lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
