Evelyn Miller 's Obituary
Evelyn (Kish) Miller, age 92, of Tallahassee, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Westminster Oaks surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Pittsburgh (Federal), PA on June 6, 1924. She proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, stationed in Washington, D.C. Evelyn went on to marry the love of her life, Dean S. Miller, on March 5, 1954. They were married for 32 years at the time of his death in 1986. In addition to raising her family and a part-time job with Tri-Valley Credit Union, Evelyn enjoyed baking cookies and sharing them with others. She was lovingly known as the "Cookie Lady" and followed the Pittsburgh tradition of baking cookies for holidays and celebrations.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Debbi (Mark), of Palmetto, FL; Diane (Kirk) of Tallahassee, FL; her stepdaughter, Sabra (Steve) of Alderson, WV; four grandsons, Jack, Dennis, Jason and Jordan; great-grandson, Camden and sister, Helen Ross of Pittsburgh.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Dean, her parents, two brothers and four sisters.
A celebration of life will be held at Killearn United Methodist Church on Monday, September 12 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to NAMI (National Association of Mental Illness), P.O.
