Evans Don Fletcher's Obituary
Evans Donald "Don" Fletcher, 87, of Quincy, FL, passed away July 29, 2025. He was born January 12, 1938 in Quincy, FL to Malachi and Bernice Suber Fletcher.
Don spent many happy young years in Bossier City, LA where his Dad worked. The family moved back to the farm in Sawdust in Gadsden County where he attended and graduated from Greensboro High School. He went on to graduate from Norman College in Norman Park, GA after spending one year at William Carey College in Hattiesburg, MS. He served four years and was honorably discharged as Airman First Class in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for 10 years for CH2MHIL Water and Wastewater before retiring from Weavexx (also in Quincy) after 34 years.
Don is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Bundy Fletcher; his son, Stephen Andy Fletcher of Quincy; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Malachi and Bernice Suber Fletcher; one brother, George Thomas Fletcher; and sisters, Jean Crane; Margaret Hayes; and Helen Myers.
Don was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Providence Community, Gadsden County.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM, Friday, August 1st, 2025 at the Lifesong Funeral Home Chapel in Quincy. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A private interment will be held at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
