Elizabeth Burr's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beth Burr, a devoted wife of 54 years, and a beloved mother of four. Beth was also a fun-loving “Gamma” to a blessed few, a sister to three, and a cherished friend to countless many. Beth’s journey on earth came to an end in view of the ocean, surrounded by those who loved her most on January 17, 2026. She was 73 years old.
Beth was a warm, hospitable welcomer, always willing to offer a smile and an encouraging word, even to strangers. She loved her husband and family well, and was always ready for a new adventure with friends and family. Beth was a person who savored every moment, cherished every conversation, and valued every connection. Because she knew those moments would be burned into memories, and those memories would endure.
Born September 30,1952, Beth met her husband Tom when they were both students at Florida State University. Tom and Beth married when they were 21 and 19, respectively, and raised three daughters and one son. Tom and Beth are both avid, lifelong Seminoles, and fixtures in the tailgate lots and in the stadium on game days.
Beth is preceded in death by her parents and her eldest daughter, Jessica. She is survived by her husband Tom, her son T.C. (Jasmine), daughters Becca (Jason) and Mary (Matt), and her grandchildren, Thomas (11), Janie (10), James (7), Amelia (16), and Maggie (4). She was excited to meet her newest grandson, Mason, in March.
Tom and Beth were long-time members at Fellowship Presbyterian Church in Tallahassee, Florida, were deeply involved in the FSU athletics community, and were regular beachgoers.
The family is grieving the sting of loss, while rejoicing in the goodness, grace, and faithfulness of God in Beth’s life, and in their own.
A private, family service will be held at the family’s request. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Beth’s name to Singing For Change.
