Dorthy Louise Boivin's Obituary
Dorthy Louise Boivin, 65, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare Center in Tallahassee, Florida. She was born November 7, 1959, in Orlando, Florida to Albert and Geneva Edenfield who preceded her in death.
In 1997, Dorthy married David Boivin and began living the life of a military spouse. He described her as the most interesting person he has ever met throughout his travels to several continents, countries and cities.
Dorthy loved hiking in the mountains, star gazing, especially the Milky Way, long walks on the beach, freshwater fishing, and gardening, both vegetable and flower. Her family describes her as one of a kind, a spitfire, a person who could light up the room with a great sense of humor. Dorthy collected knives and even had a Presidential Collection.
One of Dorthy’s greatest joys was her baptism which occurred in Vacaville, CA at the Fellowship Baptist Church. She loved reading her Bible and was a true shepherd, bringing many family members and friends to the Lord.
In addition to her parents, Dorthy was predeceased by two sons, Jonathan Payne and Thomas Payne, Jr.: siblings, Marlene Smith and Linda Sue Edenfield and her step-father, Bob Herring. She is survived by her husband, David; children, Billie Kidd, Sarah Shelton, and Brianna Boivin; grandchildren, John, David and Austin Evans, Willa Roberts, Adrianna Payne, Isabella and Bridget Shelton and Harlow Waren; sisters, Minnie Waldorf, Sharon Champbell, Carol Smith, Gail Cooksten and her brother, Albert Edenfield, Jr. as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
