Doris L. Wolfinger's Obituary
Doris Lou Dinsmore Wolfinger, 76, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2015.
Doris was born and raised in Mayes County, Oklahoma, and attended school in Wagoner before graduating from Chouteau High School. She later worked in Tulsa for the Public Service Corporation, and moved to Muskogee County when she married. She and her husband, Tom, owned and operated a restaurant in Boynton and later Wolfinger's Barbeque Restaurant in Oktaha, where they raised their two daughters.
She also worked for Rural Water District No. 1 as its bookkeeper and office manager. With the spirit of a true pioneer woman, Doris always had a garden growing and a sewing or craft project in the works. She was involved in her local church and the Oktaha Ladies' Club where she readily helped anyone in need.
Upon retirement in 2001, Doris and Tom moved from Oklahoma to Florida, where they enjoyed being involved in the lives of their grandchildren and serving at Morningside Baptist Church in Tallahassee.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Hester Dinsmore; sister Clarice Williams; and nephew David Williams.
Doris is survived by her husband of 56 years, Tom Wolfinger of Tallahassee; her brother Glynn Dinsmore of Shawnee, Oklahoma; daughters Angela Morrison of Tallahassee and Cheryl Wolfinger of Atlanta, Georgia; her grandchildren Alyssa Morrison and Thomas Morrison; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on August 3, 2015, at Morningside Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Gilliland officiating. Visitation begins at 10:30 am and the service begins at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either International Sports Federation, P.O. Box 2788, Acworth, Georgia 30102, or Morningside Baptist Church's Building Fund, 1560 Pedrick Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32317.
