I met Don and Vergie in my first year of graduate school when Amy took me to visit her parents. I always remember their nice and welcoming reception. Don has this passion for history and burning curiosity for the world in general. He was so proud of his family, with good reason. Through the 15 years that we knew each other, we have happy conversation about squirrels 🐿️️, good food, and our love for Amy. He was so proud of his children. Thank you Don for allowing me for being part of your life. Shine whenever you are!

It was educational talking to Don about his growing up in the 30's and 40's. We're both pilots sharing the stories of our flying days. He had a great life and family. He will be missed.

It was a Honor to care for Mr.Don. I will cherish every Memory and Life lessons I learned from Him.I don't have a lot to say but there's a lot that can said about Him. Don and I were first cousins although we weren’t close in age. His mother was the oldest of 6 children and my father was the youngest.

I’ve always thought so much of him and his family - Virgie, Amy and Andy. From trips to Aunt Winston and Uncle Karl’ s home in Birmingham when I was a child, to his chickens and eggs and roadside market, he was always busy. I’m sure it was hard work but he seemed to have such a good time doing it.

I’ll miss him
