The Tallahassee Region Antique Automobile Club of America wishes to extend their most heartfelt condolences to the Pumphrey family in the loss of their dear husband, father and grandfather. Don was a dear friend and leader in our club, serving as President, as well as contributing in many ways to the car hobby we all love. The most memorable is when Don and Pam would host our club auction every November at their farm. The attendance was always high for our auction, and we owe that to the generous hospitality of Pam and Don. We will miss him greatly, and will be one of many who will watch over our dear Pam in his absence.

Don and his wife Pam retired to a farm in Quincy, Florida. Soon after they began hosting family reunions. During a reunion, Pam organized a softball game. The 50+ folks were hitters and kids under 18 were the runners. During one play, a ball was hit into left field. Don was on 3rd base. As a great-niece was rounding second and heading his way, Don leaned down, grabbed third base and threw into the outfield. The young girl had a look on her face of surprise and disbelief. As she slid by the girl shouted, “Hey, he cheated!”
