Donald Heisler Brannon's Obituary
Donald Heisler Brannon, 75, of Tallahassee, left his earthly home on the early morning hours of Sunday, December 11, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Emily Brannon; sons, Jon Brannon (Patricia) of Tallahassee; Andrew Brannon (Chris) of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Lilly; Zachary and Amelia; stepdaughter, Jessalynn Bays of Tallahassee; and sister, Cheryl Tillman of Dothan, AL.
Don was born in Hartford, AL on March 27, 1947 to James Leslie Brannon and Mary Agnes (Heisler.) He was a proud graduate of Auburn University College of Business. Don went on to serve as Marshall of the Florida First District Court of Appeal for almost 30 years, from 1980 until his retirement in 2009.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings; Larry Brannon of Hartford, AL, Mary Linda of Hartford, AL, Nita Brannon Welch of Hartford, AL, and Debbie Brannon Tate of Dothan, AL.
Don and Emily were happily together for 27 years. He was devoted to his family, his sons and grandchildren. He loved his dachshund, George, who never left his side. He loved working in his yard and was a master gardener. He took pride in his beautiful yard and there were many weddings held there.
The family would like to thank Dr. Marino Martinez for his wonderful care. They would also like to thank TMH for the wonderful care that Don received in the final weeks of his life.
A memorial service will take place in the spring of 2023. A special thank you to all of the family and friends who reached out to us in our time of sorrow. Don was loved by many.
