David Willie Mabardy's Obituary
Mr. David Willie Mabardy, age 53, of Chattahoochee, Florida passed away on September 25, 2011, in Quincy, Florida. David was born in Nuremberg, Germany on October 28, 1957 to Harold and Ella Mabardy. He graduated from Chattahoochee High School in 1976 and played football for the University of Florida Gators, 1976-1980. He worked for the Department of Corrections as a Classification Officer at Apalachee Correctional Institution, receiving his 30 year service pin on September 23, 2011. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro, Florida. He coached young athletes in both Chattahoochee and Sneads. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and cheering on the Florida GATORS. Mr. Mabardy was preceeded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Beverly Shepard Mabardy; his brothers Karl Mabardy (Milvia) of North Carolina; Charly Mabardy (Beverly) of Chattahoochee, Florida; Harold Mabardy (Cindy) of Bluefield, Virginia; Greg Conner of Marianna, Florida; his sister Lorrie Josey (Jody) of Tallahassee, Florida; Step-mother Marilyn Mabardy of Marianna, Florida; nephews Tyler Shepard; Trey Smith; Frankie Conner; McKenzie Conner; Nieces Brooke Mabardy, Ginny Osborn (Paul), Kristy Ward (Matt), Barbara Cato (Chris), Michela Tavolieri; Samantha Conner; Kelsey Conner; and some great nieces. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Greensboro, Florida from 6:00 - 8:00 EST. The service will be held at graveside at Mt. Pleasant Cemetary on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 11:00 EST with Rev. John Forsman officiating. Arrangements are by AmeriCare Funeral Home, 20 South Duval Street, Quincy, Florida 850-637-1111
