David L. Brower Jr.'s Obituary
David Lawrence Brower, Jr., 67, passed away on August 5, 2020 at his home. He was born on February 7, 1953 in Miami, Florida. His family moved to Tallahassee, FL. when his father was in the legislature, and he graduated from Leon High School. David received numerous track scholarships, but returned to Tallahassee to help support his mom and brothers. David was a family man and had such a love for his wife, Kathy, of 44 years, his daughter Brittany and son-in-law Rich Moore and most of all the love of his life, grandson Maddox and soon-to-be Maddox’s baby brother. David's passions included FSU football, anything sharks, soaking up the sun, Corvettes, Beatles, great cook, World War II, history, politics and everything on TV that included ocean, beaches, and boats. David loved classic rock and could name all the dates of every song in the 60’s 70’s and 80’s. His sense of humor was larger-than-life; he loved a good crank call and disguising his voice. Big Dave was quite the landscaper, who enjoyed a well manicured yard and enjoyed sharing all the plentiful fruit from his trees. He was awarded yard of the month on two occasions. Survivors also include his brother Clay Brower (Michele) sister Mary Helen Lee Scott, mother in law Anna Barfield, Brother-in-law Freddy Barfield, sister-in-law Lynda Zapata (Al) sister-in-law Donna Nelson, brother-in-law Timothy Barfield (Roberta), also numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many more family members and friends. David was preceded in death by his father David Brower, Sr., mother Doris Brower and brother John Brower. Memorial donations can be made for missions to First Baptist Church of Havana PO Box 586, Havana, FL 32333, where a service will be held this Thursday, August, 13, at 4PM.
