Danny Howell's Obituary
Daniel Walter Howell (Danny) passed away in Tallahassee, FL, on May 13, 2025. He died as he lived: gently and without fanfare.
Danny was born in Quincy, FL, on January 13, 1949, to Clarence William Howell and Helen Louise Herb Howell. A 1967 graduate of Quincy High School, he earned Aircraft and Power Plant certification from Lively Technical School. He had a fixed base operation in Bainbridge, GA before moving to Ocala, FL to operate Ocala Surplus Sales for 18 years. He said he learned much from parenting and operating his own businesses. He later worked for a competitor managing a recycling company in Ocala. Then it was time to move home to Mt. Pleasant to be a mentor and family connection.
Home and family were very important to Danny. He and his wife, Patricia (Trish) Parramore Howell, shared 55+ years of marriage, blessed with love, laughter, children, grandchildren, and unwavering faith.
Danny is survived by his wife Trish; his sister Susan Howell Mills of Bainbridge, GA, brother John Herb Howell (Betsy) of Tallahassee, FL, and sister-in-law Nora Howell Beauchamp (Harold) of Mt. Pleasant, FL; his children, Julie Howell Helter (David) of Dayton, OH, Sarah Marie Howell of Ocala, FL, Paul Martin Howell of Newcastle, WY, and Susan Marie Howell of Mt. Pleasant, FL; his grandchildren Seth Matthew Hummel Helter and Luke Daniel Helter of Dayton, OH, and many cherished friends and relatives (particularly his nephews who helped so much as his health failed).
Danny is predeceased by his parents Clarence and Helen Howell, his brother Thomas William Howell, his brother-in-law Houston Andrew Parramore, Jr. (Andy), sister-in-law Bonnie Marie Parramore Reddick, and child-of-the-heart William Paul Wiley.
