Cynthia "Cindy" Ruth Greaves' Obituary
The spirit of Cynthia Ruth Greaves left to experience eternal joy in the presence of her loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 19, 2023, after a short illness in Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. On March 22, 2023, she continued to bless others as she gave life-saving, life-changing organs to those in need.
She leaves behind her husband, Rev. Christopher Greaves, her daughter, Kara, sons Michael and Timothy, and daughter in love, Danielle. She is also survived by her mother, Ruth Nodine, of Easley, SC, as well as her siblings and numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Nodine.
Cindy was born on July 12, 1972, in Central, SC, as one of quadruplets, including her sister, Edie Brunner (Cheney), and brothers, Paul Nodine and Greg Nodine (Debra). After meeting the love of her life on the first day of college, Chris and Cindy were married 4 years later in Pendleton, SC, on May 15, 1994 - the day after they both graduated from Toccoa Falls College in northeast GA. Cindy used her degree in Early Childhood Education to homeschool her children and then later to teach Kindergarten and First Grade at Community Leadership Academy in Tallahassee, FL.
Cindy’s favorite place to be was with family - whether homeschooling, playing games, going to the kids’ games, watching movies, or wherever the adventure took them. She loved being a mother and enjoyed watching her children grow to become strong and independent. Cindy’s love extended far beyond her home as she lovingly opened her arms to those who needed a mother’s unconditional love.
Her love for Chris, her children, and others that God placed in her life was only surpassed by her love for Jesus Christ. For almost 29 years, she joyfully served alongside her husband in churches in Alabama, Pennsylvania, and Florida. In recent years, she diligently studied and worked hard to become a consecrated official worker of The Christian and Missionary Alliance. She faithfully served at Piedmont Park Alliance Church wherever she was needed, most notably in the children and youth ministries. Her philosophy of ministry and life was echoed by her final words, “For His Glory.”
Memorial Services celebrating Cindy’s life will be at 4:30 PM, Sunday, March 26, at Piedmont Park Alliance Church, 3210 Thomasville Rd. Tallahassee, FL 32308. Officiant will be the Rev. Tom Flanders, District Superintendent of The Alliance Southeast of The Christian and Missionary Alliance.
In lieu of flowers and because of her great love for children, Cindy’s family has requested that memorial contributions be made either to a designated children’s ministry project c/o, The Alliance Southeast, PO Box 64, DeLand, FL 32721-0064, or to the College of Prayer International, PO Box 2084, Lilburn, GA, 30048.
