Cheryl Gibson Halford's Obituary
Cheryl Gibson Halford passed away peacefully on February 18th, 2025, surrounded by her friends and family.
Cheryl was born February 14, 1949, in Quonset Point, Rhode Island. Her early years were spent traveling with her military family, including time living on a military base in Cuba. In the 1960’s her family relocated to Tallahassee, FL and she remained there for the rest of her life.
As a girl, Cheryl attended Trinity Catholic School and Leon High School. After becoming a mother, she went back to school to pursue a nursing degree at TCC.
Cheryl was a caregiver at heart. From becoming a registered nurse, to working at the methadone clinic on the weekends, she was compelled to take care of those around her. She was loving and devoted to her many friends and family. She was known for her kindness and willingness to help others.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret “Mimi” Gibson, her father Paul Gibson Sr., her brother Paul Gibson Jr., and her nephew Ethan Thompson.
She is survived by her son Aaron Halford and his wife, Erin Lamonica, her nieces Rayner Taylor, Jennifer Gibson, Tori Thompson and their children, as well as nephew Ryan Gibson. She is also survived by many close friends who remained devoted to her throughout her life, including friends from grade school to nursing school and beyond.
A gathering of her friends and family will be held to celebrate her life at a future date to be announced.
Memorial donations in her name may be made to The Lupus Foundation of America or any charity of your choosing.
