Charles Meehan's Obituary
Charles Thomas “Tom” Meehan, 86, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, in Tallahassee, surrounded by family.
Tom was born Charles Thomas Meehan, Jr. on August 23, 1939, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to Charles Thomas Meehan, Sr. and Frances Helen Hill. After losing his mother at a young age, he was lovingly raised by his stepmother, Ruperta George.
A devoted family man and successful insurance salesman, Tom earned many national awards over his career. He was an avid classic car enthusiast and drag racer, known for his spirited participation in car shows across the Northwest and Florida. Tom also delighted crowds as an Elvis impersonator at community events.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Parks-Meehan of Tallahassee, son, Chris Meehan of Tacoma; his daughter, Julie Ann Bryant of Marshall Michigan; stepsons Scott Parks of Tallahassee, Brian Parks of Marysville, Washington, and Chad Parks of Everett, Washington; stepdaughter Erin Smart of Tallahassee; 14 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his adoptive daughters, Sherry Hartman and Kimberly Meehan.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 24th, 2-4 pm at Northside Community Center, 8005 Oak Grove Road, Tallahassee.
