Charles Richard "Rick" Barfield's Obituary
Charles Richard Barfield (Rick), age 75, departed this earth on February 12, 2021 after a short illness.
Rick is survived by his children, Carrie Anne Prince and Charles Arthur (Chip) Barfield and step-children, Shannon Snyder, Shelly Bell, John Jordan. He also leaves behind three brothers, David, Steve and Dan Barfield as well as 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and 14 nieces and nephews.
Rick served his country with distinction in the United States Marine Corps and is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned several medals. After leaving the Marine Corps, he went on to distinguish himself with a 33 year career at the Federal Aviation Administration and retired peacefully as an Air Traffic Controller. During his service with the FAA, he also earned his commercial pilot license and was a successful pilot for many years.
Rick will be interred in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund. Semper Fi.
