Chandra Christine Cullison Collins' Obituary
It is with sad hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Chandra Christine Cullison Collins, 64, at her home in Tallahassee on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
Christine was born on December 14th, 1959, in Olney, Illinois to her loving parents, Ann Chandley Cullison and James Shelley Cullison II. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many.
Christine lived most of her life in Tallahassee. She graduated from Leon High School in 1977 and then Lively Technical College with a degree in Electronics Technology. She dedicated her career to being an IT Change Management Analyst at Tallahassee Memorial Regional Medical Center, where she excelled with diligence and grace. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, cooking for her family and co-workers, caring for her many rescue dogs, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Christine touched the hearts of everyone she knew with her gentle and kind-hearted nature. Christine was a woman who accepted everyone. If one had a problem, she always showed up. She was so loved at work, always making goodies to take in, just because. She had a great sense of humor and a loving heart. She had the house everyone wanted to be at and was known as the "Kool-Aid Mom.’ Being in her presence made you feel safe. She took in lost children and healed them. She rescued damaged dogs and made them whole. She was a most excellent Mama and Grandma. Chrissy was just so "cool."
Christine leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her surviving family members: Three sons, Sean Patrick Collins of Tallahassee, Justin Dean Collins of Clearwater, and Davis Chandley Collins and his wife Macy of Tallahassee; four grandchildren, SaLiyah Amayah Cullison, Brian TaSean Collins, Brison Patrick Collins, and Brandon James Berry, of Tallahassee; mother, Ann Chandley Cullison of Jacksonville; four sisters, Elizabeth Cullison Dixon (Charles E Dixon III) of Jacksonville, Jane Cullison Vosser (Peter G Vosser) of Columbus, Georgia, Farrell Cullison Hendricks (Clayton J Hendricks) of Woodstock, Georgia, and Susan Cullison Young (Daniel Futch) of Destin; five nieces, four nephews and 13 great nieces and nephews. Christine was predeceased by her father, James Shelley Cullison II, her companion of many years, Alan G Cherpak, and her former husband, Robin Craig Collins.
Christine’s warm presence and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace as her memory lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Lodge of Wakulla Springs on Sunday, May 5th, 2024 at 3:00 pm in the Terrace Room. Light refreshments will be served.
