Carol "Pipper" Stayer Ellinor's Obituary
Carol Ann “Pipper” Stayer Ellinor passed away early Friday morning, March 25, 2022 in Tallahassee, Florida. A grave side service for “Pipper” Ellinor will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Woodland Cemetery, 521 4th Street SW, Havana Florida. Following the service, family and friends will be received at her son Matt Ellinor’s home, 3461 Welwyn Way, Tallahassee, Florida 32309.
Mrs. Ellinor is survived by her sons Matt Ellinor (Sullivan) and Dan Ellinor; daughter Heidi Ivester (Rick), grandchildren Kaley Hartman (Chris), Ashli Ivester, Miller Ellinor, Morgan Ellinor, Cameron Ellinor and great-grandchildren Hayes Hartman and Cole Hartman; sister and brother-in-law Jan and Bobby Miller; nieces Lawson Miller Smith (Glenn), Susan Miller Jones (Bobby); nephews Andy Miller (Cindy) and Bill Miller; and her beloved cat, Geronimo.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Allen “Chief” Ellinor; and her mother and father, Carl and Margaret “Peg” Stayer.
Carol Ann “Pipper” Stayer Ellinor was born on July 17, 1940 to Margaret and Carl Stayer of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Tampa, Florida where she graduated from Plant High School.
Mrs. Ellinor attended Florida State University and graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education. While at FSU, she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and was a sweetheart of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Upon graduation, Mrs. Ellinor married Robert Allen Ellinor, Jr. and she accompanied him as he served his country in Germany as a First Lieutenant in the Army. Upon an honorable discharge from the Armed Services, they returned stateside. Mr. Ellinor entered the banking profession and Mrs. Ellinor enjoyed a long career teaching elementary students in Gadsden and Marion counties. Together they raised their 3 children while living in Ocala, Florida.
She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed painting and spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
