Brandon Garris' Obituary
Brandon David Garris, age 36, died Sunday, July 10, 2022, at the Margaret Dozier Big Bend Hospice House after a long battle with melanoma cancer. Brandon, also known as, "Honey Badger" was born in West Palm Beach, Florida on September 30, 1985 to the Father, David Russell Garris (deceased) and to the Mother, Mary Ann Lucas.
Brandon is survived by his Mother, Mary Lucas, his brother, Robert Lucas and his sister, Samantha Lucas. In addition, his grandmother, June Boykin Garris; his uncle, Robert E. Garris (Becki); his cousins, Bryan D. Garris (Ally), Brandi Garris Krassler (Josh), Dirk Garris (Andrea), Billy Newman (Genine), Bobette Martin (Henry); his beloved and devoted girlfriend, Ashley Weaver; and his faithful and devoted friend, Mo Morales.
He is preceded in death by his Father, David Russell Garris, his grandfather, William Stanton Garris and his brother Andrew Garris.
As soon as Brandon finished school and turned 18, he moved to North Florida (Tallahassee) to be closer to his grandparents and his Father's family. He joined his grandparents at their home on Lake Talquin where he could fish every day. Besides fishing, his other greatest pleasures was spending time with his friends and family, going bogging in his Honey Badger truck, tinkering on his truck(s), spending time playing and training his dogs (his favorite was his dog Badger, who passed away a year ago to the day as Brandon on July 10, 2021) and posting Instagrams both silly and serious.
Brandon began working with American Discount Aluminum upon moving to Tallahassee where he started as a Helper and ended up as a Lead Supervisor for one of their installation teams. Other than a short time at Lowes, he continued to work with American Discount until he fell sick with melanoma and was no longer able to work.
In remembrance of Brandon's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Melanoma Research Alliance which partners with the American Cancer Society.
