Betty Sue Duncan Clark's Obituary
Mrs. Betty Sue Duncan Clark, a retired nurse, passed away at the age of 85, Monday, September 15, 2025.
Miss Betty was born in 1940 to the late Bernie Lou Lee Duncan and the late William Duncan in Washington County, Florida. She graduated from Chipley High School and received her LPN certification from Lively Vocational School. Miss Betty worked as a nurse at Gadsden Memorial Hospital and later at Gadsden Nursing home, retiring in 1984.
Miss Betty made her home in Gadsden County upon her marriage to David Dwight Clark, Sr. in 1960 and where, in 1976, they purchased Clark Tractor Company, Quincy, Florida. They were married for 58 years and had three children: David Dwight Clark, Jr. (Robin) of Quincy, Sandra Clark Smith of Hardaway, and Suzanne Clark Gilmore (Wayne) of Duluth, Georgia; five grandchildren: Elizabeth Clark Singley (Almon), Robert Clark, John Allen Smith, III (Rachael), Caroline Gilmore, and Christopher Gilmore; and one great-grandchild: Margaret Singley. She is also survived by her beloved sister Margaret White, and brothers, Gus Duncan (Faye) and Joe Duncan (Glenda). She is preceded in death by her husband, Dwight, son-in-law, John Allen Smith Jr., and sisters, Mary Louise Alday and Katherine Tharp.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, September 20th at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, 1612 Providence Road, Quincy, Florida.
