Barbara Littlejohn McDonald's Obituary
In loving memory of Barbara Littlejohn (Brown) McDonald, born on December 23, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024 in Tallahassee, Florida.
Barbara is survived by her five children; Katherine James of Dover, Florida, Christopher Field of Tallahassee, Florida, Jonathan Field (and wife Becky) of Tallahassee, Florida, Julia Oldham (and husband Michael) of Whispering Pines, North Carolina, and David McDonald (and wife Denean) of Hohenwald, Tennessee, and eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother Samuel Potter Brown III, who passed in 2021, mother Emma Simmons Smith, who passed in 1979, and father Samuel Potter Brown II, who passed in 1971.
Throughout her life, Barbara had an unwavering love for God and the teachings of the Bible. She loved music with Chopin being her favorite. Barbara had a passion for thrift store shopping and was always on the hunt for a good bargain. She was a lover of desserts, especially ice cream and chocolate and would bake regularly.
Barbara spent most of her life living in Hardaway, Florida. She was an animal lover, and always had cats and dogs to keep her company. Her family remembers her fondly and knows that she is now at peace with the Lord.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 3pm at Hillcrest Cemetery in Quincy, FL.
