My cousin, Barbara Taylor Grissom, and I grew up in Northern Va. near Washington, DC. We had contact with each other in childhood and in later years when my husband and I visited Ft. Walton Beach, and Barbara in Tallahassee. It was a pleasure to meet her as an adult, and find she was a "force of nature", a lady who was spiritual, had a wonderful family, an interesting life, and was very entertaining with her wonderful sense of humor. Our visits were always filled with laughter. We loved to her her stories. She was a very caring person, sending cheer, and thinking of others when her health was at a low ebb. At this stage, I usually have a hard time remembering what I did last week, but I vividly remember the many (many, many) times that your folks and you guys were kind enough to let me tag along with you to the state park for the week-end, some 45-50 years ago I guess. As long as I with 'The Grissom's', my folks were always good with it no matter where I was going. More recently, your Mom would often stop by if I was outside and get me up to date on you guys and your families happenings. I will sorely miss those visits. I will always remember her and your Dad, and the impact they had one me, and how kind they were to me. Those will always be my Good 'ol Days.

It was with sadness my family and I learned of Barbara's passing. We have many fond memories of good times shared with Barbara, Bill and their family. When I married her brother Charlie decades ago, I knew she was a strong, dedicated woman of faith and has remained so all these years. Barbara's love for God, her Family, Friends and Country has been unwavering, in addition to her kindness, sharp wit and good humor. Sincere condolences to all the family. Barbara was like a sister to my parents and a second mother to me. I cannot remember a time when she was not in our lives supporting my family through good times and bad. Her love for God and family was deep. Words cannot express how much she will be missed but we rejoice in knowing that because of Calvary, we will see her again soon! Love you Barbara!

For 44 years, this woman has been my other mom. I loved the time I shared with her and how much she loved our family. Her faith was unwavering and her hope for the everlasting was unshakable.
